In fact, from March 22 to 25, Blackberry Farm will host Spring Tour De Smokies where guests may share the journey with former Pro Cyclists Bob Roll and George Hincapie. Then, Chef and Vintner Michael Chiarello will end each day’s ride with unique wine and culinary offerings. “All of The Wellhouse treatments and fitness offerings are signature and purposeful. We have a large array of spa treatments inspired by the natural rhythms of the farm and accompanied by science and advanced technology,” Anderson says. Creative Experiences In addition to educating its guests on treatments and sustainable wellness practices, The Wellhouse at Blackberry Farm also offers creative experiences. During the months around The Wellhouse’s opening, Blackberry Farm hosted photography and garment craftsmanship workshops with professionals in the fields. When inhaled, the compounds’ anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties take effect and stimulate white blood cells that fight disease, promoting health and wellness. “Blackberry Farm’s ‘forest bathing’ activities have been proven to enhance fitness, accelerate healing, increase mental focus, improve biological responses to reduce stress and fight disease,” Anderson says. The forest bathing concept encompasses several outdoor activities, such as the Earthfit Endurance 16 PULSE n March/April 2015 Hike and Deep Healing Woods Yoga, which is exercised on a platform in the woods. Foxhunting Foxhunting is a favorite tradition among Blackberry Farm’s guests who return year after year to experience the communal thrill of the chase. This unique outdoor event includes meals, an exciting hunt and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the sport with friends. The hunting season is capped with a Foxhunt Finale in March, where guests hunt for one last time for the season, and share a traditional Blackberry Farm Hunt Breakfast and Masters’ Dinner.
