30th anniversary, we’re going to share with you the visual highlights
of 30 years of ISPA, from 1991 to 2020.
NEW INITIATIVES
2006 – 2008
BEFORE THE ONSET OF THE GREAT
RECESSION in late 2008, ISPA spent
several years focusing on delivering
new resources to its members. In 2008,
ISPA released a landmark Global
Consumer Report studying spa-goers
worldwide and formally launched the
ISPA Foundation Mary Tabacchi
Scholarship. The Scholarship’s first
recipient, Michelle Bashore, would go
on to work at The Spa at Viceroy
Snowmass and Kohler Waters Spa at
Burr Ridge.
2006 saw the ISPA Conference &
Expo reach an all-time high attendance
of 3,302. Just two years later, however,
ISPA would host one of its most
intimate Conferences in the wake of
the global financial crisis—an event
often named as one of ISPA’s best
and most vital.
