Hyatt Hotels Corporation has launched the Hyatt Cares Fund, a program designed to support Hyatt staff members with pressing financial needs during the COVID-19 pandemic. The fund was created through donations from the Hyatt Hotels Foundation and Pritzker family foundations, as well as reducing the salaries of Hyatt’s senior leadership. Ultimately, the fund will support colleagues who are ineligible for government assistance through grants for rent payments, groceries and more. 2. Art in Wellness, a collaborative arts initiative co-founded by Michael Tompkins and which counts Beauty Changes Lives and Hutchinson Consulting among its partners, issued an open call for artists to submit “artwork communicating the healing power of touch within the spa, beauty and wellness community.” The four winners— announced on June 15—were awarded $1,000 cash prizes. The winning works of art will be available virtually at artinwellness.com and will be shared via physical placement. 3. Mala and Mantra is now offering a “MOCO Self-Care Kit” in collaboration with a variety of industry partners, including European Spa Source, Helen Jon and Skin Authority. MOCO, short for “more compassion,” is the company’s motto for increasing compassion during the COVID-19 crisis. For each kit sold through December 31, Mala and Mantra will send one kit to a frontline healthcare provider and donate to #FirstRespondersFirst. Each kit contains a product from each partner, including sustainable jewelry, hand cream, lip gloss, a face mask and more. 1 2 3 JULY 2020 ■ PULSE 43
