1. Rancho La Puerta founder and industry veteran
Deborah Szekely established the Friends of La Puerta
Fund to help support the community of Tecate in Baja
California, Mexico, which is the nearest settlement to
her wellness destination. Wildfires in October 2019
claimed the lives of four residents and displaced neigh-
borhoods. Szekely stated in an open letter, “For almost
80 years, Rancho La Puerta has shared in the life of the
community of Tecate. Tecate is family. Now they need
us.” Donations can be made online to the San Diego
Foundation, Friends of La Puerta Fund.

2. To recognize the Day of the Girl, Farmhouse Fresh
celebrated with a “Hey Girl, Hay! Day” where a
percentage of sales went to Miss Jo’s Rescue Ranch.
Through this promotion, Farmhouse Fresh was able to
donate 23 bails of hay to this rescue that recently took in
over 20 animals—many of which nearly starved to death
and were in dire need of veterinary care.

3. Repechage hosted the Oncology Esthetics Bootcamp
with the National Aesthetics Spa Network. The event
was held at the Lydia Sarfati Post Graduate Academy
on October 28, 2019, with a portion of the proceeds
donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
4. Prior to the holiday season, TallGrass Spa & Salon
organized a shipment of 267 Soldier Boxes to troops in
the Middle East, beating their record by six boxes. 2019

marked the tenth year their property has collected
donations for care packages and brings the total to
1,700 sent since the project began.
5. Saltability has launched a new giveback effort which
provides a donation to support local sea turtle
hatchlings for every account opened with Saltability
professional. Saltability will make donations directly to
Gumbo Limbo Nature Center, which supports the care
and feeding of Gumbo Limbo’s turtles and continued
conservation efforts on Boca Raton beaches.

6. Remedy Day Spa in Albuquerque, New Mexico, recently
hosted a fundraiser for Dar a Luz, a local birthing center
which provides compassionate and holistic prenatal care
along with women’s health services.
