SOUND OFF
DO YOU EVER WONDER how your THIS MONTH’S QUESTION:
peers would handle a situation? Maybe you’re
curious what other leaders in the spa industry
have to say on a certain subject. In Sound Off,
we ask ISPA members from differing backgrounds,
countries and companies the same question and
see how their answers compare. “What’s your trick
for motivating
yourself and your
team for 2019?”

“At New Year’s I always take
some time to envision what
I want to create for the new
year, and I make a Mandala
with four quadrants relating
to four aspects of life: career,
health, relationships and
personal growth. And then
I use colors, words and
images to express what I
want to manifest in the
coming year. I post that
where I can meditate on it
throughout the year.” “I like to review the prior year
personally and professionally,
regroup to decide where I
want to be, come up with a
game plan on how I can get
there, and then recommit to
myself, my passion and my
profession.” “We arrange a company-wide
training and inspiration day
each January to come
together and share an
experience. We then have a
spa-specific day, and I love
helping select the trainers
and speakers that will set the
tone for our year.” “Come up with six to eight
new ideas that will impact
the overall guest experience,
then meet with the team to
thoroughly discuss and
implement three. It is exciting
to track the results and
celebrate any milestones or
goals achieved through this
process.” n
