IT’S EASY BEING GREEN
QUICK TIPS FOR IMPROVING
BEING AN ENVIRONMENTALLY CONSCIOUS, sustainable or even regenerative business
isn’t optional anymore—it’s essential to compete for environmentally savvy spa-goers in a
crowded marketplace. Each month, Pulse will offer tips on going green, plus fun facts about being
environmentally friendly. This month, we’re featuring tips from Noel Asmar of Noel Asmar
Uniforms and the Hospitality Lifecycle Initiative.
1. Washing Tip for Towels:
Avoid fabric softeners, if you can.
The build-up over time can leave
your towels stiffer, less absorbent
and cause them to retain odor
longer. And not using fabric
softener means that there’s one
less chemical in our waterways
flowing into the oceans.
2. Upgrade Your Faucets:
Switch to automatic whenever
(and wherever) possible. It’s an easy
change to make that can also pay for itself
over time. Did you know running tap water for
two minutes uses about three to five gallons of water?
n
FACTS OF THE MONTH
1. “Little leaks add up. For example, a hot water
faucet that leaks one drop per second can
add-up to 165 gallons of wasted water a
month.”
2. “An energy-smart clothes washer can save
more water in one year than one person
drinks in an entire lifetime.”
