In ISPA Flashback, an ongoing series in celebration of our
30th anniversary, we’re going to share with you the visual highlights
of 30 years of ISPA, from 1991 to 2020.
THE END OF THE CENTURY:
1997 – 1999
ISPA HAD GROWN EXPONENTIALLY BY THE END OF THE 1990s. The first ISPA Conference
& Expo was attended by 150 people; the 1999 event was attended by 1500. As the spa industry
rapidly grew, ISPA grew alongside it and began to develop into the association you know today.
It was in this era that Pulse became a magazine, ISPA first began conducting its industry research,
the member directory was established and the first-ever ISPA website was launched—but hey,
this internet thing might just be a fad, right?
