editor’s note
How is it the November/December issue? When did that happen? Is there an evil Time Lord stealing
precious minutes from my life? Did I slip into a long-ass coma without realizing it? On the flip side, it’s
nearly Christmas so actually it’s not all bad. I’ve been extra good this year so I’m pretty psyched about a
certain someone’s visit to my bedroom on 24th December.
That sounded less creepy in my head.
On the subject of nocturnal activity, one of our team took it upon herself to go on six dates with
six different Chinese dudes in as many days in an attempt understand the dos and don’ts of dating in
China. You’ve heard a million dating war stories from the guy’s perspective so we thought it was about
time to get a gal’s take on things.
In other news, you may not have heard of the newest manga character on the block – its name is
Uterusman and it looks like… well… like a flippin’ massive uterus. We caught up with the creator to
discuss how and why this whole thing came about.
As usual, we’ve got a load of music stuff, as well as interviews with Shanghai’s most style savvy
fashionistas, and a look behind the scenes of Dr Sketchy’s Anti Art School, the place to get drunk and
draw beautiful naked models. That’s my kind of event.
One final thing - big apologies to Fei Wu, author of last month’s brilliant PULP Diction piece ‘Moth’,
and fiction editor of HAL’s Far Enough East. Fei wasn’t credited and she deserves loads of credit because
her piece was AWESOME. Sorry and thank you Fei!
