Xiphophorus hellerii help to settle skittish cichlids

I add a sand and fine gravel mix with randomly
placed pebbles. The main feature at this point is
the established Nymphaea lotus (Green). There
are different ways to grow it, but I prefer to let the
leaves shoot to the surface. The plant is positioned off left. The first piece of
wood is added to the scape, this is a large thick
piece with no roots or branching. This wood will
be the base for the rest of the pieces to be added
later.
