River Sligachan by Pascal
Bobillon 500ptcom/ pascalbobilton
(Above) The Sligachan River originates in the
Cuillin mountain range on the Isle of Skye. I
focused using the hyperfocal distance, which
with a wide-angle lens and small aperture,
gives sharpness throughout the scene. A
two-second exposure is enough to give the
torrent a beautiful yarn, while the waters direc-
tion echoes that of the clouds.’ Mon D800 with

Loch Etive by Pascal Bobillon
(Right)“The arrival at Loch Etive from Glen
Coe is always spectacular and offers beautiful
reflections on a calm day. It’s pure chance
to see this place in these conditions and
under this warm late autumn light. The curves
guide the eye to the bottom of the mountain.
Using a graduated ND filter balances the
exposure between the top and bottom.”

Reflection on Lake du Val
by Pascal Bobillon
(Bottomright)“I was on the road to the
Cascade du Hérisson in Jura, France, when
I had the chance to see this beautiful autumn
reflection on the Lake du Val. I often have
my 50mm mounted on my camera and this
focal length was perfect for the composition.
The band of mist, ideally positioned, allowed
me to compose this almost symmetrically.”
