Psychopomp Magazine Fall 2014 | Page 5

Words from the Editors

Dear Readers,

This issue of Psychopomp Magazine, our fifth, marks the start of our second year. Our first has been great. We've been able to publish a number of excellent stories that we have been truly proud to share. Toward the end of the calendar year, we'll be releasing a print anthology of all the prose which has appeared in our first four digital issues. Also on the horizon is our second annual contest, for which we'll begin taking submissions in October. We have high hopes that Psychopomp's second year will be an even better one than the first.

Issue 5 contains more pages of prose than any of our issues to date. We loved the stories in here so much that we couldn't delay a single one into the new year, so this is our most story-packed issue yet. Included among them is one of our contest selections, Heart on a Sleeve by Julia Carey, which was a runner up for the 2014 Psychopomp Magazine Short Fiction Award. Though the five stories, as well as the works of art, included in this issue are very diverse, they all exude a strangeness and magic that we at Psychopomp love.

Thank you to all the readers and writers who continue to make our magazine's journey possible. We hope that this big, bold issue signifies the continuation of what we believe has, so far, been a great adventure. Happy reading!
