SUSTAINABILITY

Today, sustainability is an issue which is almost
discussed everywhere. Sustainability is simply defined as
‘the quality of being friendly to the environment or judicious
use of natural resources, and thereby supporting
long-term ecological balance’. Most of the organizations
think that the philosophy of sustainability is good but its
practicality is an issue. True! it is an issue for those who
developed non-sustainable habits and practices over a
period of time for promoting competition of wrong culture
and values like ‘ increased rate of return’, ‘increased net
income’, ‘increased profit’ etc. They are addicted to these
values and cannot try to think out of greed.
Everyone is agreed that ‘greed is a curse’, ‘selfishness is
bad’, ‘accumulation of money into one’s hand is bad’ etc,
but unfortunately, prevailing system of economy is based
on these negative things which can never bring happiness
and prosperous life. The prevailing system is making poor
to poorer and rich to richer. The gap in poor’s need is
widened by the greed of rich
