Wandering the Waterfalls By Keith Paradise Bushkill Falls Bushkill Falls Road, P.O. Box 151 Bushkill, PA 18324 Phone: (570) 588-6682 With its mountainous terrain coupled with creeks and tributaries, the Poconos is a very popular destination for waterfall observation – with Bushkill Falls in Pike County possibly its most popular site. Nicknamed the “Niagara of Pennsylvania,” this 300-acre property was originally opened by Charles E Peters in 1904 and boasts eight unique waterfalls fed by two streams nestled deep within the mountain’s forest – with the 100-foot drop Main Falls the signature water feature on the property. Visitors looking to combine hiking with their waterfall watching will want to check out the three miles of hiking trails which leads to Bridal Veils Falls. With Bushkill Falls situated in the Pocono Mountain region, campers have their choice of roughly two dozen camp- grounds to stay at during their visit. 6 | EXPLORE Pennsylvania 2019
