CPS Local Performance Checks Managed by the CPS Research and Development team, Local Performance Checks (LPC) are used to provide data reference points for field agronomists and producers. Each site is a small plot site with replicated trials. All varieties on each site are seeded the same day and receive identical treatments of fertilizer, seed treatment, herbicides and fungicides. Although early or late flowering varieties do not necessarily mature earlier or later given the year, seeding varieties with a range of flowering and maturity dates will: • Spread out the summer flowering period (a sensitive time for yield development) • Spread out the work load (fungicide applications, swath timing and harvest) Proven Seed has a wide selection of hybrids with a range of flowering and maturity dates.
