STREET IMPROVEMENTS

Downtown improvements are included in this Proposition. Chaparral Street Phase I (Bond 2008) is shown above.
1. DOWNTOWN PEDESTRIAN
SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS
$ 850,000
Pedestrian safety improvements
including new crosswalks, signage,
pedestrian signals, and traffic signals
at select cross streets in the downtown
area. Additionally, the project contin-
ues initiatives from previous Bond proj-
ects to reduce traffic congestion while
improving public safety and access in
the downtown area.
2. DOWNTOWN LIGHTING
IMPROVEMENTS

Prioritized lighting (illumination)
improvements along the north/south
corridors to the downtown streets.
3. NORTH LEXINGTON
BOULEVARD
Hopkins Rd. to Leopard St.
$ 2,400,000
Reconstruction and widening of ex-
isting 2-lane roadway with new pave-
ment, signage, pavement markings,
and illumination improvements.
5. ALAMEDA STREET
Louisiana St. to Chamberlain St.
$ 2,580,000
Reconstruction of existing 5-lane
roadway with new pavement, curb &
gutter, sidewalks, signage, pavement
markings, traffic signalization improve-
ments, illumination improvements and
concrete bus pads.
4. EVERHART ROAD
SPID to McArdle Rd.
$ 1,170,000
Rehabilitation of existing 5-lane road-
way with new pavement, curb & gutter
repair, sidewalk, ADA compliant curb
ramps, signage, and pavement mark-
ings. Consideration will be given for
safety lighting within the project limits.
