PROJECT PRAY Ministry Report 2018 | Page 9

Agree 18 I n January 2018, the Church of God International Offices paused for Agree 18. Each evening, a live- streamed prayer meeting took place coordinated by Doug Small. The prayer event was a lively collage of information, inspiration and intercession featuring a variety of church leaders, missionaries, local pastors, and students who led in a time of prayer for the nations and world. Members of the International Executive Committee, the World Missions leadership team, and others, challenged viewers and those present in the studio. Simultaneous intercessors took phone calls, and collected prayer requests from social media. Engagement among social media and livestream viewers topped over 100,000, a sign of the move of the Spirit that reached beyond the walls of the International Offices. Total engagement approached half-a-million! In 2019, they will conduct this three-day revival and prayer convocation once again. o 21-DAY VIRTUAL PRAYER MEETING T his was the third year of the Virtual Prayer Meeting. Christians joined other followers and thousands of churches across the nation in prayer for revival in the church and awakening in the culture. In 2018, the call was hosted by 13 denominations or movements. Thousands joined the prayer call each night for 22 nights in January. New for 2018, the call was live streamed on Facebook and the americapray.net website. The response was overwhelming with social media connections approaching 700,000. Special guests included Alton Garrison, Assistant Superintendent of the Assemblies of God; Tom Phillips, Vice President of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association; Kay Horner, the Awakening America Alliance; and Michael Obi, African Strategic Prayer Leaders Network and many more. In this sense, the call is historic. It was not one church or organization, but many, together, praying as one voice for the same cause – revival and awakening. It is clear. We seem to be getting the message. Our only hope is a ‘great awakening’ in the culture and a revival in the church, and both come on the wings of prayer. With so many different first-of-the-year prayer avenues and with limited resources, we regret not to offer the Virtual Prayer Meeting for 2019. We hope that folks will engage in the various prayer campaigns promoted across the nation. One such resource is the Awaken prayer and fasting guide written by Doug Small and Claude King. Daily devotions and prayer exercises from the guide will also be posted on Doug Small’s blog and emailed each day. Sign-up to receive the daily emails and learn more at: projectpray.org/awaken. o 9
