Discipleship and Internship Programs P ROJECT PRAY has launched a residential Discipleship Training Program and Internship Program. The Discipleship Training Program targets young adults and church leaders wanting practical training in the area of prayer and its interface with children and youth, evangelism-mission, as well as media. We are currently accepting applications to ‘pioneering’ participants. There are two components to the program. The academic component is accomplished by studying PROJECT PRAY resources and will eventually be offered virtually through Project Pray University, an online prayer and discipleship training methodology. The second component is a practical component. Each student volunteers with the ministry in some aspect such as: audio media (podcast, etc.), social media, visual media (video), publications (book and study guide production). In addition, each student is expected to be involved in ministry in the context of a local church. The program is designed as an 8-12 week program, but shorter terms are available. Each student raises their own support for the 20 hour per week program or chooses to volunteer. At the end of the experience, they will have the equivalent of 8-12 college-level quarter hours of credit. We want to spark a hunger for prayer and prayer leadership. The program is ideal for a young person who may be between high school and college or between colleges, wanting to deepen their prayer life. The program is also open to adults of any age. The internship program is different in that we are partnering with local colleges and universities with their career centers to find students who are considering a faith-based, church related, ministry career and want to work in a Christian context. The internship focus areas include: donor relations, event planning/coordination, literary media, audio/video media, public relations, marketing and social media. Contact the PROJECT PRAY office if you are interested in learning more about these opportunities. o 8 Agree 18 I n January 2017, the Church of God International Offices paused for Agree 17. In 2018, they conducted this three-day revival and prayer convocation once again. Each evening, a live-streamed prayer meeting took place. The prayer event was a lively collage of information, inspiration and intercession featuring a variety of church leaders, missionaries, local pastors, and students who lead in a time of prayer for the nations and world. Members of the International Executive Committee, the World Missions leadership team, and others, challenged viewers and those present in the studio. Simultaneous intercessors took phone calls, and collected prayer requests from social media. Engagement among social media and livestream viewers topped over 75,000 on Thursday, a sign of the move of the Spirit that reached beyond the walls of the International Offices. Total engagement approached half-a-million! Declare your personal commitment to prayer in 2018 at www.praycog.org/commitment-to-prayer. o Looking for weekly inspiration?
