WHAT GOT YOU INTO EDUCATION ?
My mother was a highly respected educator . She was a leader in her career , in her church , organizations at the local-state and national levels and community . I wanted to mirror her and gain the respect she had wherever she went . She was a real professional . Parents , colleagues and students looked up to her . She was firm but fair . Both parents stressed the importance of getting an education . Many of my mother ' s colleagues and friends were educators . I grew up in a home with an educator . Dinner parties , barbeques , shopping trips and church were where I would interact with educators and their families . I liked what I observed in and out of the classroom about educators . I enjoyed reading and learning . Learning is exciting . I would play school as a child , pretending to teach my friends . I wanted to be like my mom and her friends , so education was my choice . I knew I could make a difference in someone ' s life . My reward was to see the smiles on my student ' s faces when they learned something new .

WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS AS AN EDUCATIONAL CONSULTANT?
As an Independent Educational Consultant , I want to help school districts and communities evaluate their situation , analyze their data and plan to address " THE " problems identified in the data . I want to facilitate the planning process and coach individuals and groups of citizens and organizations to be specific in the solutions to the problems that will begin to turn around their districts and communities . I cannot sit back and complain on the phone and at home about the systems , the students , the parents and the government without sharing my experiences of 35 years as a Teacher , Guidance Counselor , Academic Assistant Principal , Coordinator of Elementary Education , Principal , Director of Elementary Education and Area Director for Instruction in the Putnam County School District .
My career prepared me for the next chapter in my life as an Educational Consultant . Working with Superintendents , Principals and their staff was essential for me to understand the dynamics of the school systems . Spending quality time in schools gives me a better perspective of what is happening in the classrooms . I will continue to expand my services into as many school districts as possible . Making a difference in the lives of others is a major goal .
