The National Council of Urban League Guilds is the national association of volunteer auxiliaries of the Urban League . In existence for more than 66 years , active in more than 85 chapters in Urban League communities across the nation ; guild volunteers hours equate to more than a million dollars annually . Guild members donate their time to deliver services that extend public understanding and support of the National Urban League and its programs .
Considered the heart and soul of the Urban League movement , Guilders contribute thousands of volunteer hours annually and play a pivotal role in connecting the Urban League to communities . Guilders participate in fundraising ; and help to develop the leadership skills of ordinary individuals and engage them in local community issues . Guilders serve as mentors and tutors and assist with projects as needed by local Urban League affiliates .
The First Annual Ultimate Humanitarian Initiative Award Weekend is October 17 – 18 . This is the time we , your Urban League Guild says ‘ thank you ’. Thank you for allowing us to earn your respect as we serve the community . If you have always wanted to acknowledge someone for their work in the community , now is the time .
