Celebrates National Hospice and Palliative Care Month During November

DAYTONA BEACH , FL – Halifax Health – Hospice of Volusia / Flagler ( HOVF ) will celebrate National Hospice and Palliative Care Month throughout November with a series of educational events and recognitions .
Hospice and Palliative Care Month is designed to promote awareness of the high-quality care available at the end of life . HOVF provides this care with a specialized and unique team of professionals including physicians , nurses , social workers , spiritual counselors , home health aides , therapists and volunteers .
On Thursday , November 6 , HOVF will host “ The Care and Support of Family Care Givers ” – a presentation by Rev . Richard F . McCleery – from 11:30am to 1pm at the DeLand Library ( 130 E . Howry Ave ., DeLand ). The event is open to the public and will focus on care givers and services available to them through HOVF .
HOVF will also partner with several local organizations to present workshops that offer information about hospice programs and services on two dates :
• Saturday , November 8 , 11am-3pm , The Book Store and So Much More ( 410 S . Nova Rd ., Ormond Beach )
• Tuesday , November 18 , 11am-3pm , Flagler County Public Library ( 2500 Palm Coast Pkwy ., Palm Coast )
In addition to the educational events , HOVF will commemorate the one-year anniversary of its West Volusia Care Center opening in November while also looking forward to the opening of its Southeast Volusia Care Center in January .
