Jeremiah 24 : 1-6
1 The LORD shewed me , and , behold , two baskets of figs were set before the temple of the LORD , after that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon had carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah , and the princes of Judah , with the carpenters and smiths , from Jerusalem , and had brought them to Babylon .
2 One basket had very good figs , even like the figs that are first ripe : and the other basket had very naughty figs , which could not be eaten , they were so bad .
3 Then said the LORD unto me , What seest thou , Jeremiah ? And I said , Figs ; the good figs , very good ; and the evil , very evil , that cannot be eaten , they are so evil .
4 Again the word of the LORD came unto me , saying ,
5 Thus saith the LORD , the God of Israel ; Like these good figs , so will I acknowledge them that are carried away captive of Judah , whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans for their good .
6 For I will set mine eyes upon them for good , and I will bring them again to this land : and I will build them , and not pull them down ; and I will plant them , and not pluck them up . KJV
In 2004 , while ministering the Word in the middle of a Sunday Worship Service , I observed the family of the landlord we were renting from at the time , posting a large sign in front of the Church that read " For Lease ". I told everyone to turn and look at what was happening . Now we were never late on a rent payment , and we had a great relationship with the landlord and his wife . But it was the chjldren of the landlord who were very eager to sell the property , in order to reap a financial reward .
After service I had the members to follow me in their cars as we looked at some other property . This did not sit well with me but I didn ' t want to get caught blindsided if we were to be told we had to leave .
During that week , The Lord gave me a word , " Where I plant you , you shall be planted ." Then I was directed to Jeremiah 24 by the Holy Spirit . After reading the passage , I just said , my God ! Well I studied the passage and prepared a message for the following Sunday . Long story short , we have been through many trials since 2004 . You can say we had a wilderness experience ! We have had people who were just stringing us along with the promise of getting finances for us . We have had people who were plotting to buy the property right from under us without our knowledge . And even those who were responsible for paying the taxes on the property , were not paying the taxes . But God ! For every sneaky thing that was done , God always brought it to light .
One evening I went to the church to put down fertilizer on the lawn , it was almost dark when a gentleman drove up in a SUV . He said that he was going to buy the property the next day . I told him that he had the wrong property , that this property belongs to the church ! Well , he told me that 9am the next day that the city was going to be auctioning off the property ! So whatever I needed to do I had better do it quick . I made a phone call to the person handling the affairs of the property , and told him what I just heard , and that it needed to be taken care of before 9am the next morning ! And it was ! But what if I had not cared enough about the property to be in place ? Had I not been there we would have lost the property !
Now understand , this was not the half of what we went through ! But some things just need to stay in-house . However , I thank God for those who continued to pray for us over the years ! Several Pastors , and church leaders , and many friends of this ministry have kept us in their prayers . We at North Jacksonville Family Worship Center thank you !
Your prayers have been answered ! The Lord has now brought us to the end of the journey ! The bank has agreed to give us the loan to purchase the property !!! For The Lord was faithful to His Word to us ! Where he planted us , we are planted and shall not be plucked up !
