Thomas K . Kornegay

Thomas S . Kornegay is chairman , founder and chief executive officer of TeKONTROL , Inc ., a multi-million dollar business enterprise with more than 40 employees working around the world . A retired U . S . Navy warrant officer , Mr . Kornegay served for twenty-four years in a variety of engineering , logistics and maintenance management and staff positions . As a result , he knows and understands the challenges of performing in the global environment .
He founded TeKONTROL in 1986 in response to a demand by government agencies and commercial organizations , for support in providing quick response solutions to challenges in training , logistic support services , and engineering services . Since then , TeKONTROL has established a stellar reputation with both domestic and international customers for a wide variety of services to government and commercial customers .

Mr . Kornegay is active in a myriad of civic and community activities and has served in leadership positions in many of them , including the Greater Orlando Chamber of Commerce Executive Board , the Black Business Investment Fund Board of Directors , the Orange County Historical Society Board of Directors , the COMPACT Board of Directors , the Greater Orlando Small Business Chamber Executive Board , the African American Chamber Board of Governors , the Florida Chamber Board of Governors , the Leadership Orlando Alumni Board of Directors and the Greater Orlando Leadership Foundation Board of Directors . He was also a state of Florida delegate to the 1995 White House Conference on Small Business .

Dr . Charles Simmons has devoted 40 years of his life as a Pediatric Medical Doctor to the residents of the Greater Jacksonville area . He has been a champion for the poor , neglected and disadvantaged Medicaid patients . He provides hope and inspiration to the Northside of Jacksonville where many resident who are medically deprived live . Also a Northside residence himself , Dr . Simmons is accessible to individuals while he ’ s grocery shopping , getting gas and walking his dog , and is known to give medical advice wherever he is found .

Dr . Simmons has served his community , city and state as a volunteer in many ways . He has been a Scout Master with the Boy Scouts of America for 13 years receiving the Silver Beaver Award , the highest award in scouting given to a volunteer . He received the Child Spirit Award from the YMCA on the Northside of Jacksonville , served on the Commission of Children and Youth services for the City of Jacksonville and served on numerous boards with youth groups such as the Daniel Memorial Home for Children , Board of Directors , and Children ’ s Home Society Board of Directors .
Dr . Charles Simmons , III has been president of the State Medical , Dental , and Pharmaceutical Association and served two terms with the State Board of Speech Pathology and Audiology after being appointed by past Governor Lawton Chiles . He server as a mentor to medical student interns , many who today are in practice across the country . Each year he host the A / B Honor Roll luncheon at Dave & Buster ’ s where he treats and gives out trophies to his young patients who make the A / B Honor Rolls at their various schools . Charles Simmons is committed to helping others .
