As she reflects on a professional career that spans 45 years of continuous employment , Dr . Barbara Darby gives God all the praise and the glory for what He has blessed her and her teams to do . She knows unequivocally that her faith in God has kept her through the highs and the lows and that it is because He has gone before making the crooked path straight , she can now look forward with great anticipation to the next phase of her life .
Dr . Darby thanks Dr . Steven R . Wallace for her initial appointment to the position of Campus President and the confidence he placed in her and Dr . Cynthia Bioteau for her continued confidence and support .
Barbara thanks her parents Lloyd and Bethy , her grandmother May ( all now deceased ), husband John Darby , Jr . and their children Jzanyt Burney , Tamara Witherspoon and Jonathan Darby , grandchildren Alexander and Brandon Burney , as well as her friends , Delta Sigma Theta , Inc . Sorors , and Woodlawn Presbyterian Church family for keeping her grounded and for their unconditional love and support ! She is looking forward to having more time to enjoy life with family and friends , continuing her service on Boards , mentoring young professionals , speaking engagements and making a difference in the lives of young men and young ladies through Valor Academy of Leadership and Virtue Arts & Science Academy , respectively .
