A MESSAGE FROM
THE PRINCIPAL
Tiffany Robert
Dear Students,
Learning comes to life at Thornton Academy Middle School!
TAMS is a place where students create, dream, and inspire! TAMS is a place where everyone knows your name
and you are more than just a stu dent in the classroom. At TAMS, you are an integral member of our learning
community. Your teachers work hard to create an atmosphere where all different types of learning can take
place. As a small school, we are able to take a personalized approach toward recognizing your individual needs
and accomplishments.
TAMS is a leader in bringing innovative programs to middle school students. I hope you will take advantage
of our academic extension courses or participate in one of our off-campus expeditions. If you find yourself
needing support, I hope you will take advantage of our after school homework club, Math Academy or make an
appointment to work before or after school with a teacher.
I encourage you to take the time to explore your interests outside of academics—whether it’s getting involved
with a school club, participating in the performing arts or joining one of our athletic teams. Be a risk taker and
try new things. Figure out exactly what it is you like to do! Middle school is a time for you to learn, explore and
grow!
I look forward to supporting you as you navigate your middle school journey!
