For more registration information, visit our website at www.gsdakotahorizons.org or call the Program Registrar at 701-293-7915 or 877-904-8168. Event registration provides accurate counts for supplies, program space guidelines and adult supervision ratios.

Financial Assistance:

Financial Assistance is available for registered members of Girl Scouts—Dakota Horizons (girls or adults). Assistance is considered on a case-by-case basis. The Financial Assistance Application form and guidelines can be found on our website at www.gsdakotahorizons.org.

Dakota Certificates:

Dakota Certificates may be used to pay for the girl event registration fee of a council-sponsored or Service Unit event unless otherwise noted. Dakota Certificates may also be used for Girl Scouts of the USA girl membership fee and retail store purchases. Dakota Certificates can be used through their expiration date (printed on the certificates).

Adult/Girl Ratio:

Events are for registered participants and their adult chaperones only. In order to comply with Safety Activity Checkpoints and serve as many girls as possible, the following ratios must be met:

Daisy (K-1): 2 unrelated adults for every 1-6 girls Plus 1 adult for each additional 4 girls

Brownie (2-3): 2 unrelated adults for every 1-12 girls Plus 1 adult for each additional 6 girls

Junior (4-5): 2 unrelated adults for every 1-16 girls Plus 1 adult for each additional 8 girls

Cadette (6-8): 2 unrelated adults for every 1-20 girls Plus 1 adult for each additional 10 girls

Senior (9-10): 2 unrelated adults for every 1-24 girls Plus 1 adult for each additional 12 girls

Ambassador (11-12): 2 unrelated adults for every 1-24 girls Plus 1 adult for each additional 12 girls

Insurance:

Current registered members are covered by activity insurance for all events in the Program Guide. Non-members are covered through supplemental insurance.

Note:

Occasionally activities within an event may need to be altered. Every attempt will be made to ensure equivalent value.

Reasonable Accommodations:

Girl Scouts—Dakota Horizons will provide reasonable accommodations for people with disabilities. Requests may be made to the District Office as early as possible, that is, at least two weeks in advance of the event. No Girl Scout will be excluded from an activity on the basis of a disability-related accommodations request.

Tag-a-Longs:

A tag-a-long is a child, infant or toddler or someone other than the specific grade-level girl the event is designed to serve. Please check the event descriptions to see if tag-a-longs are welcome. Be sure to inform chaperones in advance when there are no tag-a-longs allowed at the event.

Lost and Stolen Items:

Girl Scouts—Dakota Horizons is not responsible for lost or stolen property. In an effort to better protect your property, write your name on every item you bring with you to an event. Items found at an event will be available at your District Office for two weeks. If after two weeks an item hasn’t been claimed and retrieved, it will be donated to a charitable redistribution facility.
