AUSTRALIAN
PREMIERE SEASON
When Trisha Brown founded the
Trisha Brown Dance Company in
1970, it became a singular platform
for her prodigious, revolutionary
vision of dance as pure movement.
Those early years witnessed the
creation of some of her most iconic
miniatures performed for the most
part in ambient silence; a notable
exception being Spanish Dance,
featuring the voice of Bob Dylan.
Playful, unconventional and
layered, these performances are
an irresistible encounter with
dance history – a potent showcase
of a talent whose works brought
post-modern dance into maturity,
and whose influence continues to
resonate across the world.
