THE FAMOUS SPIEGELTENT
THE MIck
cameron
memorial
string band
Featuring members of Headbelly
Buzzard, The Mick Cameron Memorial
String Band perform a tribute to the
late Mick Cameron, guitar player,
singer and co-founder of Australia’s
premier ‘old time string band’ over two
unforgettable Festival nights
Over the course of 15 years, Headbelly Buzzard
developed a unique progressive/retrogressive
sound based on the traditional dance and social
music style of the southern US Appalachians. The
band has played every Friday night at the Railway
Hotel in North Fitzroy for 13 years, entertaining
and inspiring a whole new generation of musicians
to this infectious brand of music. Mick Cameron
has left a legacy in Melbourne pubs and Australia-
wide and his ‘old timey’ spirit lives on in The Mick
Cameron Memorial String Band.
“Headbelly Buzzard. An unforgettable
name, an unforgettable band!”
