Clair Global Acquires Eighth Day Sound
Clair Global has announced its acquisition of Eighth Day Sound Systems with the stated goal of continuing to support the dedicated relationships for touring customers from both rosters . The large touring and sound reinforcement companies say they ’ re joining forces to focus on building industry capabilities during the COVID-19 pandemic pause .
The companies say the Eighth Day Sound brand will be maintained and will conduct business as it has for the last 40 years , under the same management and with the same staff . The company will become a stand-alone brand under the Clair Global umbrella , joining Britannia Row Productions in the U . K ., JPJ in Australia , and AudioRent Clair AG in Switzerland . Eighth Day Sound will also complement the installation division of Clair Global .

Trade Regrets : Ray Auld
Ray Auld , a much-loved and respected independent Canadian audio and MI sales rep , passed in late August . Throughout his career , Auld worked with Sennheiser Canada , Electro-Voice , Efkay Musical Instruments , and others .
Ray ’ s wife , Silvana Auld , shared on Facebook on Aug . 17 th : “ To all of Ray ’ s friends on Facebook and those of you who worked with him , thank you for loving him the way I have for 47 years . He truly was a shining star in so many ways ... He was kind to everyone and never had a negative thing to say . He was my soulmate and friend . I will miss him dearly but find comfort in knowing that he is not in pain anymore . Thank you once again for caring . Our
RAY AULD lives will be forever changed without him .”

Brecht De Man Elected as AES Director

The Audio Engineering Society ’ s Board of Governors ( BoG ) has elected Brecht De Man to assume the role of AES Director beginning Jan . 1 , 2021 . Currently serving as a Governor of the AES , De Man has held various roles within the organization and continues to work as a sound engineer , educator , and member of the AES Education Committee . De Man will replace Alex Case as one of two BoG-elected directors and will serve on the board of directors through Dec . 31 , 2022 .
