Live Audio Industry Veteran Launches New Initiative to Support Techs in Need
Anthony Crea , a veteran of the Canadian live events industry , has launched a new initiative called Techs in Need ( T . I . N .) to support live event professionals currently out of work due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic . T . I . N . will be hosting an ongoing busking concert series and other events to raise funds that will then be distributed to applicants . Additionally , donations are being accepted via a GoFundMe page . Technicians can apply to receive support , and at the end of each fundraising event , a name will be drawn and a recipient will get the proceeds , no questions asked .

SHOWSDT CEO Acquires Artotech Integration & Joel Theatrical
CITT / ICTS Enjoys Successful Virtual Edition of Rendez-vous
CITT / ICTS held its annual Rendez-vous conference online from Aug . 17-20 , 2020 , featuring four days of educational programming and networking opportunities as well as the organization ’ s annual general meeting .
Rendez-vous 2020 was comprised of over 20 individual virtual events , including seminars , workshops , roundtables , social and networking activities , and more .
“ Rendez-vous is always about the theatre community supporting each other by socially sharing experiences . This year it was the same – familiar faces with all of us facing the same challenges and the stress of not being able to perform live ,” says Peter Snelgrove of GerrAudio . “ GerrAudio felt that we had strong interest and excellent participation in the events we sponsored , which was encouraging . A lot of work went into making this happen , but overall , we felt it was a very satisfying and well-organized virtual experience .”

In June 2020 , Show Distribution and Scapin Staging formally joined forces to become SHOWSDT – Scene Design & Technology . A couple of months later , on Sept . 17 th , Denis Lefrançois , the CEO and majority shareholder of SHOWSDT , announced his acquisition of Artotech Integration and Joel Theatrical .
