Vey says that working with St-Laurent and his team at Pays de la Sagouine has been
a very positive experience. “They are all professionals and understand very well what is in-
volved in a project of this size,” he shares. “They were great with communication on details
that we needed and very flexible and accommodating during the installation process.
Their techs were on hand during the whole install, which made running cables and finding
things really easy, considering how well they know their venues.”
He also tips his hat again to d&b audiotechnik Canada, noting that Corbin visited the
venue after the install to see and hear the systems and ensure the results were meeting
everyone’s expectations.
To that end, both Vey and St-Laurent say that the attraction’s techs and operators
have enjoyed their experiences mixing on the new systems. “Overall, the comments have
been great,” Vey states. “The technicians feel more confident with these systems and
have commented on how very little tweaking is required to get a nice-sounding mix.
One person said they just had to recall their show file and turn it up; the system was very
plug-and-play.”
Thanks to its ongoing relevance and popularity
coupled with an injection of funding from the
governments of Canada and New Brunswick, proj-
ects are currently underway to ensure the stories
and overall experience of Pays de la Sagouine
– particularly the fan-favourite performances of
Viola Léger as Maillet’s title character – will carry
on years into the future. And thanks to some rel-
atively small but nonetheless cleverly designed
audio systems in some of its main venues, that
experience can be better delivered for the present
as well.
