Toronto AES to Host
One-Day Expo in June
The Toronto chapter of the Audio Engineering

downtown Toronto.
Organizers say that Toronto AES Expo19 will
bring together audio manufacturers, distribu-

world of audio technology.” Attendees will have
the opportunity to see and be educated on
how evolving technologies will impact their
businesses.
The expo is a focused-attendance free event
and includes the AES Networking Lounge,
where attendees can connect for education,
business, and social opportunities. The Expo19
Exhibit Floor in studios 43 and 65 will host prod-
uct demonstrations and interactions.

InfoComm’s Emerging Trends Day to Explore
Disruption in Pro AV Industry
InfoComm 2019, the largest
annual pro AV show in North
America, is happening from
June 8-14 in Orlando, FL.
Organizers have announced
that the annual Emerging
Trends Day on June 11 th
will offer a lineup of ana-
lysts, integrators, end users,
and technologists who will
examine the forces impacting
pro AV, from IP to disruptive
audio and video to unified
communications and collaboration (UCC).
The Emerging Trends Day sessions will include “IP as the Universal Language of AV,”
spotlighting a theme that will resonate throughout the day’s program. Paul Erickson
of IHS Markit Research will give an overview of how IP has facilitated the develop-
ment of fine control to achieve more immersive audio. Janice Brown of RLab, the first
city-funded virtual and augmented reality lab in the U.S., will lead a panel exploring
what immersive audio means in different contexts. Ira Weinstein of Recon Research will
consider how UCC has become more about workflow than technology and what that
means for integrators and users.
In other InfoComm news, Shure President and CEO Christine Schyvinck will deliver
the keynote speech at the AVIXA Women’s Council breakfast. Schyvinck is one of a few
women to hold an executive position in the pro audio industry and will discuss how to
get young women engaged in the industry and why overall diversity in the workplace
is important and drives results and satisfaction.
