Universal Audio Empirical Labs EL8 Distressor Compressor Plug-In

Audio has introduced the Empirical Labs EL8 Distressor Compressor plug-in , an end-to-end circuit emulation of the iconic compressor that has been used on thousands of hit records for UAD hardware and Apollo interfaces .
Introduced in 1993 , the Empirical Labs EL8 Distressor is used in studios all over the world . The plug-in provides the features and sound of the original EL8 distressor design . UA ’ s team of DSP experts started with a complete circuit trace and component study of Dave Derr ’ s selected golden unit . Simultaneously , the team analyzed three more EL8s representing the lifetime of the product .

Warm Audio WA-47 & WA-47jr Studio Microphones
Warm Audio has released the multi-pattern tube WA-47 and solid-state WA-47jr studio microphones .
The WA-47 is an all vacuum tube , large diaphragm , transformer balanced , multi-pattern large condenser microphone based on the classic ‘ 47 that has been used on countless records for the last 50-plus years .
The WA-47jr is a more cost-effective FET transformerless version of the classic ‘ 47 . The WA-47jr is fully discrete and has three polar patterns .
Both mics utilize a custom reproduction of the vintage 47-style capsule used in the classic ‘ 47 microphone . The new microphones were designed with the same hole pattern and frequency response and the Warm version of this capsule is designed to match the sonic character of the original .

Hafler CI-1255e Amplifier
Hafler has released the CI-1255e 12-channel amplifier , designed for multi-zone commercial and residential sound installations .
The design begins with gold plated RCA inputs or optional Euroblock ( Phoenix style ) connectors for each channel . A stereo bus input may be used to feed any or all channels simultaneously from one source . This is paralleled on the front panel via a 3.5 mm input for an iPhone , tablet , or Bluetooth interface . Speaker outputs also employ detachable Euroblock ( Phoenix style ) connectors for easy termination .
The CI-1255e employs true class AB architecture to deliver 55 W RMS per channel ( 100-W peak ) of pure power at 8 ohms and 70 W RMS ( 140-W peak ) at 4 ohms on each channel . Channels 11 and 12 may be configured in bridged mono mode to deliver 180 W RMS to power a subwoofer . Individual gain controls on each channel allow for precise adjustments for each of the 12 zones .
