White’s annual February Freeze technology showcase and educational event expanded to two days. It was held on Feb. 6-7 at the William F. White Centre in Toronto. The first day featured a format that regular attendees would be familiar with, with the exhibition hosting around 50 vendors from the film and TV technology sector, covering au- dio, video, lighting, and more. For day one, the seminar program included a panel discussion on horror movie making in Canadian cinema, as well as the Technology vs. Creativity: POV of a DP panel hosted by Canadian cinematographers who discussed the challenges they face when trying to incorporate both technology and creativity into a project. Day two of February Freeze was solely focused on technical education, with Techni+ Contact Canada/Beyerdynamic, Moss LED, Arri Camera and Arri Lighting, and Sony all giving hands-on, product-specific seminars.
