I was born October 10th, 1957 parentage of Ray and Gwendolyn Seymour on the beautiful island of New Providence, Bahamas. I am the second child of five to that union, they named me Prenetta Estelle, affectionately call Nette. My early childhood was a typical middle class one and I had a happy, normal childhood life. Growing up with both God-fearing parents I became a baptized believer of the Christian faith at a very early age. My parents put the scripture in action that says “train up a child in the way to go and when they are old they will not depart from it.They took us to church every Sunday, or I would be more correct if I said, every time the church doors were opened. I was christened and grew up in Messiah Baptist Church where I sang in the children’s choir, the youth choir then on to the senior choir. I also served on various boards such as Church’s secretary, Pastor’s secretary, Sunday school teacher, and finance committee member. Later in my adult life after being led by the Holy Spirit to join church family ties with the New Covenant Baptist Church whe re I proudly serve as senior Usher, and regularly boast as King David said, “I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of the Lord, than to dwell in the tents of the wicked”.I attended the Claridge Road Primary and the Highbury High Secondary High Schools. After graduating from high school in 1974, I was sent by my mom to the country’s affordable Technical College to further my education, where I major in secretarial courses thus was able to secure my first job as a Typist at The Tribune and later applied and was accepted at the National Airline of The Bahamas, where I’ve been since June 2, 1980 (37 years) as Secretary and presently Administrative Assistant in the Quality Assurance Department. I am past chairman of the Golden Gates Constituency of the FNM Past Trustee of the Public Managers Union Member of the Woman’s Branch of the FNM Presently I serve on the Board at the Airport Authority. Presently serves as Trustee of the Garden Hills FNM constituency On February 20, 1982 I married Hervie John Burrows and God has blessed our union with three lovely children, Shakera La-Tia, Christa La-Shan and Joshua Jon. I am a proud grandmother of one Christian Nathaniel, 4 years. As taught, to first seek the Kingdom of God, I instilled the same Godly principals into the lives of our children. My favorite Bible verse is Psalms Chapter 92 vs. 1. It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto Thy name, O most High. Favorite song “Great is Thy Faithfulness”.
