Suzanne Pattusch could not have known that her early childhood immersion in the Bahamian tourism and hospitality environment through her father Nick Pattusch, a hotelier, would have a defining influence on her career path. She has always veered toward service as she began her journey in sales and marketing in the financial sector and as an entrepreneur in the tourism sector as owner/operator of Bahamas Bungy, both here in The Bahamas and Mexico. For the past 15 years, Ms. Pattusch has channeled her expertise and experience into developing and shaping nonprofit and private sector Associations. Her successes as Executive Director of the Nassau Tourism Development Board helped set a strong foundation for the Downtown Nassau Partnership. She collaborated with private and public sector partners to initiate and progress key initiatives such as The Renovation and Revitalization of the Historic City of Nassau, the Harbor and surrounding areas; the EDAW Student Program; The Downtown Improvement Initiative; The Bahamas Visitor Safety and Security Initiative and the Tourism Police Program. Managing the Old Fort Bay Property Owners Association Ltd, Ms Pattusch played an important role in developing and executing community guidelines in keeping with the mandate of the Board of Directors, working alongside key contributors for policy design and implementation in areas of; community development, property maintenance; security and access regulations; construction regulations and the development and enforcement of architectural guidelines. Suzanne, worked diligently to positively influence and advance the growth of the community at Old Fort Bay. As the premier collective voice of the industry, The Bahamas Hotel & Tourism Association provided Ms Pattusch with the opportunity to bring her life experiences and influence to the table. Her appointment as Executive Vice President once again immersed her in the Tourism Industry. She enthusiastically embraced this opportunity and has pursued avenues to broaden the Association’s areas of focus. Through strong and well-researched advocacy positions the Association has navigated the Value Added Tax and Labour Legislation discussions and negotiations. In addition, she has lead and represented the Association’s efforts such as: Bahamas National Culinary Team to world-class recognition; increased focus on Workforce Development; Hurricane Readiness and Response and The Tru Tru Bahamian Movement, her passion, which is a celebration and promotion of Bahamian culture, heritage, and entrepreneurship. Ms. Pattusch’s twin sister Angela is her touchstone, and daughter Paige, her uncontested pride and joy.
