Bishop Helen McPhee was born in Port Howe, Cat Island, Bahamas. She holds a Master of Arts and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Christian Counseling from the Universal Bible College Incorporate. A certificate in Business and Administration from the University of Miami. She studied Biblical Studies with the Rhema Bible Institute, the Oral Roberts University and has attended numerous workshops, seminars, lectures and training sessions from national and international institutions. In 1976 along with her husband Reverend Edward McPhee organized the Faith Baptist Church where she served as Co-Pastor. In 1995 she organized Agape Full Gospel Baptist Church where she was inducted as Pastor in 1996, being one of the most influential female Pastors in the Bahamas. Bishop McPhee served in the following organizations both on the national and international level; Director of Women’s Affairs Bahamas Region, Overseer, and International Elder, for the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International; Executive Assistant to the Provincial Global Leader of The Bahamas, and the Executive Assistant Women’s Division Department for the Global United Fellowship; The Bahamas National and Missionary Convention. A trailblazer for women she has traveled extensively as a dynamite and powerful preacher, coordinator, teacher, motivator, mentor, counselor, mistress of ceremony, popular radio and television personal, throughout, The Bahamas, the Caribbean, the Unites States, Africa and Israel. A Banker by profession she served in the banking industry for 30 years. She has served on several Government and Civic organization in The Bahamas; the Prison Ministry; Women’s Bureau; Board Member Ministry of Housing, Board Member Bahamas Development Bank; Founder of The Deep South Movement of Cat Island and a marriage officer for the Commonwealth of The Bahamas. Bishop McPhee has received many honors and awards. She is blessed with four (4) children and four (4) grandchildren.
