Probashi Letter to the Editor It is very good. I wonder how some Probashi people got together to produce such a marvellous stuff. The presentation of genius and down to earth RAY, The illuminating narration of Gautam Ghosh of today. Narration of Baolis of Delhi, take us back to history, Enjoyed noble excellence of JJ in physics and chemistry. The very encouraging children's contribution, Saga of handicraft and many faces of devotion. The collage of heritage and culture so articulate, Will fill the heart of readers with every taste. Keep it up with all grandeur PROBASHI, You really deserve all applaud and shaabashi. Prof Deb Mallik, Faridabad Going through the articles of the Probashi gives me an impression that the editorial team members have gone in to the minutest details of events and extracted the important issues and put them before the readers in most palatable manner. The thick glossy front cover page with coloured offset printing makes Probashi at par with any good publication . Probashi has touched most sensitive and politically vibrant issue of secularism extremely well. Are we really secular in thought or action ? Hindus call Muslim communal and vice versa Political leader who needs vote ,their favourite subject is secularism and ideal topic for discussion is minority communities viz Muslim, Christians, Parsis etc are suppressed and are not getting their due. Probashi team has very clearly explained “What is Minority Community” ? Minority in India are not Muslim , Christian, Sikhs or Parsis etc. the minority in this country is a Group of intolerant people , whose master mind design. Plans and conduct communal riots Extortion, Blasts and killing innocent people for their personal gains. Prof Kajol Gupta, Durgapur The cover is done beautifully. I must admit that the backcover of the magazine is very moving. I appreciate your effort to arouse social conscience. Your take on penniless artistes (‘The Tragedy of the Fallen Stars’) shows the same spirit where you said, . . . ‘telephone companies rake in millions by selling ringtones of this song.’ Our apathy towards laws related to royalty, piracies have always encouraged such wrongdoings in the past; and, now, with the advent of new technology, the same apathy is helping ruining the music’s record-industry. Do you know, ‘Music World’ – one of the biggest outlets of CD, VCD in Kolkata, closed down just because of this? Such burning issues need more attention. Apart from imaginative topics covering almost all aspects of ‘cinema’, I found the articles on Baoli, cricket etc very interesting and informative. The piece on Bengali Nicknames is hilarious! But since ‘improvement’ knows no bounds and you too asked for suggestions, here are a few: Music plays an important role in Indian Cinema and cinema plays an immensely important role in popularizing different genres of music from all over India to all over the globe! An article on eminent lyricists, composers and musicians, who were associated with cinema right from its birth and enriched its quality, is sorely missed. Though the idea of running sub-heading is good, an artistic break between two articles will be easy on eyes. Reproduction of photographs (most are smudged or darkened) need better handling. You may like to insert page numbers and include them in the index.. So much of black (header, boxes for index, editorial team etc) makes it look rather gloomy. Despite all this is a collector’s item, no doubt. Keep it up! With best wishes, Meena Banerjee, Kolkata The children corner , Hindi and Bengali section provides equally interesting reading material. The magazine takes care of all ages and readers preferred languages. This issue is treasure of information, keeping in mind perfect secular tradition and without any political inclination I would like to thank all the members of editorial team who have produced such wonderful magazine .It is an excellent reading material .Keep it up ‘ Pro - bashi is not bashi it is surprisingly tatka or fresh. A humble suggestion, reduce over emphasis on film and include travel photography, intervie ܁
