64 SEPTEMBER 2013 PRO INSTALLER STRONG WEEKEND AT DONINGTON FOR ‘WALKER THE STALKER’ The Dickies sponsored BSB rider, Chris Walker, enjoyed an excellent day’s racing at Donington Park on Sunday 8th September securing two top 10 finishes at round 9 of the 2013 MCE British Superbike Championship. With bad weather on Friday, the team didn’t take to the track until Saturday but qualifying again went well for Chris and he lined up in a solid seventh place on the grid for the opening 20-lap race, a strong start seeing him immediately jump up the order into sixth. Here he remained until lap five when pushed back to seventh and this was where he finished, successfully seeing off a strong challenge immediately behind him. The second race saw Chris battling with the same riders and he made it four top ten finishes in a row with a fine eighth place. The weekend’s results mean that Chris unfortunately misses out on one of the top six Showdown spots but, lying in ninth overall, he will now focus his efforts on the Riders Cup of which he has a great chance of securing. Maurice Morton of Dickies, one of Chris Walker’s sponsors said: “It was a solid result for Chris who was consistent all weekend.” The tenth round has the series crossing the Channel to visit Assen, Holland on September 21st-22nd. This was a venue for one of Chris’ most well known victories in the past. assists terminally ill children and their families and fast became one of the industry’s best-loved causes.
