36 OCTOBER 2016 PRO INSTALLER PRO PRODUCTS www.proinstaller.co.uk ILLUMINATING INNOVATION Set to illuminate the industry, Carl Kammerling International has further enhanced its already popular C.K tools dextro screwdriver range, with the introduction of the C.K dextro VDE GLO Insulated Screwdrivers - the UK’s first glow in the dark, professional screwdriver set. Following last year’s extensive design optimisation programme, which reinforced the durability of the dextro range, making it an impressive 30 per cent tougher, Carl Kammerling has advanced the range further, adding a unique phosphorescent handle that gives off a strong, highly visible glow when working in dark or low light conditions. Exclusively designed for electricians and the work that they do in low light conditions when isolating electrical supplies, the C.K dextro VDE GLO range is available in a six piece set of slotted and pozidrive screwdrivers. By exposing the screwdriver to natural light, the phosphorescent material handle will charge enough to provide 20 minutes glow. Exposure to stronger, artificial lights, such as a site lamp or head torch, will provide up to 30 minutes glow, making it easier than ever to find tools in the dark. The dextro VDE GLO screwdrivers have been crafted purposely for the dexterity required in the nature of the work undertaken by electricians with a long, fine neck for precise fingertip control. It has an ergonomically shaped dual component handle, injection moulded directly to the blade giving the ultimate bond for increased reliability and durability, and ridges along the head to give extra power in the last quarter turn. For easy identification the entire dextro range has the tip type marked on the end of each handle, and anti-roll flats, which come in very useful when the screwdriver is put down on a sloped surface. A premium quality, chrome vanadium steel blade provides exceptional strength and durability, whilst a precision machined tip ensures an exact screw fit and damage free screwdriving. And not forgetting that improved tip, which is capable of withstanding over 20nm of torque, making it the toughest yet! With voltages as low as fifty Volts potentially proving extremely dangerous, if not lethal, the VDE approval of the dextro VDE range offers electricians maximum safety. VDE-approved tools are designed to reduce the risk of injury and damage to electrical circuitry. For many years tools have been labelled ‘insulated’, meaning only that they are coated with a material that is not a conductor of electricity. There are even tools on the market that claim they are tested to 1,000V. However, only tools marked ‘VDE’ have passed the rigorous tests set by the VDE Testing and Certification Institute, including being specifically tested to 10,000V of electricity and only these tools offer the peace of mind an electrician needs. As with all Carl Kammerling’s extensive tool innovation, new products are not thrown together but are created as a direct result of the company’s long-standing collaboration with end users - before, during and after tool development. Working in partnership in this way ensures that Carl Kammerling is able to deliver tool solutions that are best suited to the actual work undertaken by professional tradesmen and are matched to each sector’s specific and unique requirements. The 405mm wide board, known as a “double ended cover board”, is 9mm thick. With the introduction of the new colours, Cream, White, Anthracite Grey and Irish Oak, it is now available in the full range of eight Summit colour- ways, all in a range of widths from 150mm to 405mm. The 405mm board is specifically designed for deeper roofline applications, typically for the gable side of the box end, where a smooth, one-piece unit can be formed without the unsightly joints usually required when two boards are fitted together. Because of its superior durability and maintenance-free characteris- tics, Cellular PVC is widely used as a capping board for timber fascia boards that are still sound. Summit cellular PVC is a highly cost effective material for use at the roofline because it costs roughly the same as timber to install, requires no maintenance and so suits the exposed and inaccessible location at the eaves. www.summitpvc.co.uk Go Super-Size In Stylish Tiles With a rise in demand for contemporary, seamless spaces in the home, tile specialist Topps Tiles has introduced the new XL collection, meaning homeowners can now achieve dramatic, high-impact looks in kitchens, bathrooms and beyond.
