STAGE FURTHER
Apeer’s design and
order software system
for retailers; now features a direct-to-factory order link. Doorbuilder Direct, the
composite door manufacturer‘s new software system has been
successfully trialled
with customers, and
is now available to
download.

Manager, Apeer, said: “We
have seen a phenomenal
uptake rate within a few
days of launching Doorbuilder Direct. Forty-three
percent of our order intake
was going direct to our
factory and our IT department have been contacting
customers to talk them
through the system, in
some cases even processing the orders for them
remotely.”
As well as the new direct-to-factory order link,
the system also features
several new ‘fail-safe’
functions, to help users
order correctly. An example
of this is alert messages,
which are displayed if a
user incorrectly selects
hardware which is not suitable for a door.
The programme also displays which door thresh-
olds are available when the
door size is entered and an
order cloning facility has
been added.

been using the Doorbuilder
system as a sales and presentation tool for a number
of years and being able to
transfer information directly to the Apeer factory was
the next logical step.
“This new, updated version of the system is very
straightforward to use and
saves us time; in particularly with the systems new
‘safeguards’ and updates in
place, it reduces errors and
improves efficiency.”

Getting Tougher With ABS High
Security Door Cylinder
Trade fabricator, Glazerite Windows Ltd, has
announced that all of
its Secured by Design
(SBD) accredited doors,
from now on, will be
fitted as standard with
the TS007 3* Sold
Secure Diamond Grade
Cylinder from ABS.
The ABS anti-bump, snap,
pick & drill cylinder also
incorporates a unique patented snap secure locking
technology, which allows
sacrificial sections to break
off during an attack, leaving
the door fully secure but
usually openable by key
afterwards.

cylinders not only offer a
higher level of security than
our previous cylinders but
they also qualify for the
SBD and Maco Secure PLUS
accreditations without the
need for a separate cylinder
guard or a security door
handle.
“We were immediately

from now on they will be
fitted as standard to all SBD
accredited Glazerite doors
and offered as an option
on all our other doors. It
doesn’t matter how many
hooks and bolts your door
has, the euro cylinder is the
weakest link. Burglars are
aware of this weakness and
locksnapping break-ins are
rising as a result.
