VALENTINE’S COMPETITION
SHOWS THE INSTALLER LOVE
The VEKA UK Group recently ran a Valentine’s-themed competition,
asking member companies why they loved being part of its scheme.
And while they knew approved installers were enthusiastic about the
support on offer, they didn’t expect the responses they received.

Manager for the Approved
Installer Scheme explained:
“In the end, we picked two
winners, as they’d really spent
time and thought on their
answers, showing us just how
important being an approved
installer is to their business.
“Scott Taylor, Director at Taylor’s
Joinery and Plastics in Workington penned us a fantastic poem,
all about the dependability of
approved installers.
“But it was the message we
received from Dave Marks at Millennium Windows in Redruth that
floored us.” Dave wrote:
‘We were thrilled to hear such an
enlightening perspective on how it
feels to be an Approved Installer’
“I think the Approved Installer
Scheme not only has so many
different varieties of helpful items
available from the Marketing
Hub, but it has given me a sense
of being a part of an industry.
Although I am registered with a
Competent Persons Scheme and
a glazing trade federation, I feel
it’s all money orientated and I
am just a number. However, at
Millennium Windows – for the
first time – I have been given
leads from the Approved Installer
Scheme and so many options that
I can read about, and I do not
feel after 19 years of sole trading
as Millennium Windows like I
am on my own in this industry.
I have always used VEKA in that
time and will continue to do so.
Thanks for allowing me to be
a very small part of this whole
scheme.”
Both Dave and Scott won bottles
of wine for their efforts.
