Composite door leaves attract attention
Epwin Window Systems
launched its exclusive new range
of composite door leaves at FIT
Show this year. Sharn Samra, Ep-
win Windows Systems’ marketing
director said: “The market for com-
posite doors is continuing to grow
and we want to offer our cus-
tomers a one-stop shop for their
window and door orders, which is
what this range of composite door
leaves helps to do.”
The solid timber core door
leaves are manufactured in the UK
and are available in prepped and
un-prepped versions. The door
leaves come in 44mm and 48mm
variations, are suitable for stand-
ard or low threshold doors and
come fully edge banded. The door
leaves fit perfectly into Profile 22’s
CD70, universal composite door
outer frame and Optima cham-
fered and sculptured systems,
Spectus’ Elite 70 bevelled and
ovolo systems and Swish’s 24/7
systems.

The range includes a ten-year
guarantee for peace of mind, has
five different leaf styles and 20
design variations. There are ten
different colours, each with a
matching outer frame colour. The
new and improved thermoplastic
wood grain finish gives a more re-
alistic effect while the COOLSKIN
heat reflective technology stops
the inner timber core expanding
by deflecting the sun’s rays. It
also offers superior scratch and
abrasion resistance and exception-
al weatherability, helping to keep
doors in great condition for years
to come. A dedicated keep and

ATTENTION ON HARDWARE
Hardware specialist
VBH reports that its third
visit to FIT Show was the
best yet in terms of product
launches, visitor numbers
and leads.
The company focused
almost entirely on products
from its ever expanding
greenteQ range which was
reflected in the design and
branding of the stand.
PAS24 versions of Clearspan
aluminium bi-fold door hard-
ware and the Invisifold Slide
& Fold system both received
much attention, as did the
outward opening casement
and tilt and turn window
versions of Invisifold.

Triple track potential
PatioMaster unveiled
its new triple track opening
system at the FIT Show.
The development opens
up the market for three and
six-pane patio door con-
figurations which gives the
PatioMaster door system
even greater versatility than
ever before.
The system offers ex-
ceptional aesthetics. The
ride-over design enhances
the overall appearance and
reduces the plaster cutback
needed during installa-
tion. It is available in all
28 colours and finishes in
PatioMaster’s Palette colour
range.
Available in 24 and
28mm glazing options,
triple track door configu-
rations exceed all current
thermal efficiency require-
ments.
Above all, the doors are
easy to use as they glide
open beautifully thanks to
features such as carriage
wheels at the end of each
sash that ensure stability as
well as making them easy
to adjust during installa-
tion.
tors signed up to the scheme
during the show, keen to
offer the package to their
customers. Q-secure guaran-
tees against forced entry for
ten years after installation.
The star of the VBH show
was the patented greenteQ
SecuriFold door handle for
multipoint lock applica-
tions. SecuriFold handles
are designed to fold flat in
the vertical position when
not in use, popping up into
the ‘normal’ 90° position
only when the door is being
operated.
For the 2019 FIT Show,
VBH has reserved a stand
75% larger than this year’s.

Big on small detail
The benefits of the Timberweld
brand were among highlights of
Masterframe Windows’ Innovation
Centre at its stand at The FIT Show.
The sash windows spe-
cialist is offering installers
– and casement window
and door fabricators – the
opportunity to purchase a
licence to use this patented
method of butt jointing. It
not only offers aesthetically
beautiful timber style corner
joints but also perfectly
sealed frames.
Managing director Alan
Burgess said: “The Tim-
berweld licences come
complete with the full use
of our creative new brand-
ing and visibility on our
website, which we launched
before the show. We’re
very excited at sharing this
technology with casement
manufacturers so that we
can match their windows
with our own products that
will have matching butt
jointed corners.
“The FIT Show is the
ideal opportunity for us
to sit down with new and
existing trade customers to
discuss one on one what
our new innovations can
bring to their business.
We’ve been showcasing all
the latest products on offer
and customers have had a
chance to get close enough
to examine and inspect the
quality of the windows and
the intricate ‘small details’
that make them unique.”
