Hardware specialist VBH launched its Q-secure
multi-brand guarantee scheme at the FIT Show.
VBH advises that Q-secure
guarantees approved windows
and doors against break-in for
ten years after installation. The
scheme is designed to offer the
end user the additional peace of
mind that will encourage them to
buy from an approved Q-secure
installer.
VBH is so confident in the
hardware that is fitted to Q-secure
products that if they are broken
into due to hardware failure VBH
will make a number of payments
to the homeowner to enable them
to make-good their home quick-
ly.
Where Q-secure differs from
other guarantee schemes is that
it covers hardware from various
brands, and also covers all the
relevant hardware on a window
or door.
Gary Gleeson, VBH’s marketing
manager explained: “What really
grabbed people’s attention at FIT
was the fact that everything’s cov-
ered. We heard tales of companies
thinking that their windows were
covered by a guarantee scheme
but it turned out that only the
lock side of the window was in-
cluded. As a result, when a break-
in was achieved through the
hinge side, the installer and end
user were not actually covered.
“Because Q-secure covers test-
ed hardware from greenteQ and
a number of other top brands,
we guarantee both the hinge side
and lock side of the window or
door, and the intermediate lock-
ing points on Invisifold Slide &
Fold and Clearspan bi-fold doors,
too.
“Lastly, we are not trying to tie
fabricators down to one particu-
lar hardware brand. Of course,
products from our own greenteQ
range do feature heavily on the
list of approved products, but so
do tested products from a number
of third party manufacturers. This
means that fabricators can choose
how they make up their preferred
hardware specification by mixing
our greenteQ products with other
top quality brands. This is why
we refer to Q-secure as the mul-
ti-brand guarantee.”
Fabricators who express an
interest in joining Q-secure will
be audited to ensure their prod-
ucts meet the requirements of the
scheme, and installers will soon be
able to find a list of Q-secure fab-
