29 PRO INSTALLER JUNE 2016 PRO NEWS @proinstaller1 APEER JOINS THE GGF Window competition gathers pace The Glass and Glazing Federation’s (GGF) national consumer competition to find the UK’s best ‘Window With A View’ has received an impressive 80 entries since its launch. Some of the entries include: • Manchester Airport, North West • Victoria & Albert Museum, London • Carlton Towers, Yorkshire • Arundel Castle, South East • Birmingham Library, West Midlands • Lincoln Castle, East Midlands • Roman Baths, South West • Edinburgh Castle, Scotland • Dinorwic Quarry, Wales • Belvoir Golf Club, Northern Ireland The entries were due to be judged on the 25th May in Birmingham by an esteemed panel made up of a director of the Association of Leading Visitor Attractions (ALVA), a creative director of an interiors boutique, an architectural photographer and a partner of an award-winning architect practice. Voting for the area finalists, which takes place online, was due to open on 6th June 2016 and close in July 2016. The views which receive the most votes will be announced as the Best Window with a View in that area, and will then be put forward into the national heat. In September 2016, the view with the most votes will be crowned UK’s Best Window with a View. A members’ certificate presentation by GGF President Andrew Glover took place at The FIT Show in Telford International Centre. ‘We look forward to using the GGF’s technical resource and sharing and gaining technical knowledge’ Apeer is the company behind the award-winning Lumi frameless window and door system.
