16 JUNE 2016 PRO INSTALLER PRO NEWS www.proinstaller.co.uk Installers seize lantern sector growth Atlas Glazed Roof Solutions is helping its network of installers to take advantage of the rapidly growing lantern sector with an extended range of ultra-slim contemporary lanterns. The company says the collection of four-pane lanterns - now available in sizes up to 3000 x 1500mm - is paving the way for installers as market demand for larger contemporary lanterns intensifies. Gareth Thomas, Sales and Marketing Director at Atlas Glazed Roof Solutions, said: “This year, the lantern has become one of the fastest-growing sectors in our industry and we wanted to help installers tap into its huge potential. Although there are several lanterns on the market now, the appearance, performance and stock availability of them can vary widely. “We believe that our slim-line contemporary lantern is the best in the market, and judging by the response from the crowds who saw it at The FIT Show, our customers do too. Carrying all the trademark internal and external aesthetics of an Atlas roof, it brings light in abundance, helping to re-fashion rooms that were once starved of light into incredible spaces with acres of sky above.” Bringing ‘more sky, 25% less roof,’ this fully aluminium, thermally broken system features the slimmest sightlines in the industry, says Atlas. Comparative tests reveal that the Atlas contemporary lantern features a 60% slimmer ridge and 38% slimmer hip internally and an external ridge and hip, which is more than 50% slimmer than alternative aluminium lanterns. The roof has been created with both internal and external aesthetics in mind. Internally, the subtle profile, which is 25% less bulky than rival systems when seen from below, accentuates the views above. From the outside, the lantern has far lower external sightlines than bulkier alternative systems. The lantern has been carefully designed to be perfectly proportioned too with the internal ridge, transom rafters and hips the same 40mm width and appearance for a sleek, cohesive look. And unlike some alternative systems, there are no bosses or hoods to intrude on the roof’s slim-line ridge. In spite of its extensive glazing, the lantern delivers outstanding strength, thermal performance and wind pressure resistance. The roof is a secure pressure-plated system; more robust than conventional clipin systems which can be swiftly removed by intruders. The lantern is fitter-friendly and can typically be installed in a few hours without the need for push in bungs or excess silicone at the connections. The roof comes with solar neutral active or solar blue active toughened glass on the outside and low-e glass on the inside as standard. It is available as standard in grey, black, white, grey on white and black on white and in five stock sizes plus bespoke sizes to order. The venue has been offering holidays on the coast of ‘Sunny Hunny’ for over 80 years. Glazerite customer and VEKA approved installer Daniel Wagg was commissioned to replace the old entrance doors overlooking the swimming pool area in the resort’s restaurant, with a set of stylish rosewood arched French doors, including panic bars and an external handle. The new doors, fabricated by Glazerite in VEKA Matrix 70FS profile, are not just more aesthetically pleasing and energy efficient, but have been designed to match a number of other recent Glazerite manufactured window and door installations by Daniel Wagg at the holiday park. A spokesperson from Searles Leisure Resort, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled with the new doors. They’ve made a huge difference to the look and feel of the restaurant and swimming pool area. “We’ve commissioned Daniel Wagg to replace a number of our windows and doors over the last 12 months, so we knew we could rely on the quality of his workmanship. This, combined with the fact that he is an approved VEKA installer, gave us the confidence to award him the refurbishment work for this particular project. Daniel said: “After working in the window and door industry for over 15 years, I decided about 12 months ago that the time was right to set up my own installation company. Partnering with Glazerite as a supplier has proved to be invaluable, not just because of the fast and reliable service, but also with regards to marketing support. The team at Glazerite has provided me with my own company logo, a professional looking website and marketing material, not to mention product samples and online quoting and ordering software which has enabled me to give a first class service to prospective clients.” “Working with Glazerite has also meant becoming part of the VEKA approved Installer network,” he continued. “I’ve used VEKA products in the past, so I knew I could rely on their quality and being an Approved Installer has really helped to strengthen the company name and gives valuable credibility to our work.” www.glazeritewindows.co.uk
