22 JULY 2015 PRO INSTALLER PRO NEWS www.proinstaller.co.uk SPACE AND STYLE KEY TO SUCCESS A recent conservatory installation for frameXpress once again specified the highest performance products from the company’s range whilst maximizing space and light. The project in central London, worth approximately £10,000 is one of the latest state-ofthe-art installations to be commissioned, in what appears to be a growing consumer trend when adding value and living space. Incorporating thermally efficient conservatory roof glass as well as modern bi-fold doors in black PVCu, ensured the completed project comprises only the best in terms of innovation and style. Ian Davis, Sales Manager at frameXpress believes that the market has taken a bold shift towards aesthetics and performance as the consumer realizes the benefits offered by high performance conservatory roof glass. He said: “The innovations in roof glass that have been achieved over the last few years have for some time been impressing homeowners. Ad- ditional space equally gives so many more benefits bringing added value both physically and fiscally. The look of the finished installation is not only striking but is providing substantial financial benefits to the end user. They are quickly grasping that year round use and reduced energy bills are real benefits that are easy to achieve.” Insulation and noise reduction also appear to be important criteria for those looking to invest. frameXpress customers are increasingly discussing solar glare, noise reduction and year round use when making specifications. Ian comments: “The look of a finished project now is entirely different to 10 years ago and many customers are winning business referrals from homeowners because of this. Using thermally efficient glass roofing systems such as those from Ultraframe, Global and Quantal, places frameXpress in a very strong position.” For more information visit www.frameXpress.co.uk Everyone’s a winner! Builders’ merchant, Jewson, has announced the winners of its Building Better Communities competition, awarding 14 community projects across the UK a share of £100,000. The 14 winners were invited to a Building Better Communities celebration event at the Greenworks Training Academy, Birmingham. At the event, property expert and TV presenter, Sarah Beeny, presented the prizes to the diverse list of projects, ranging from sport club pavilions and community theatres, to outdoor classrooms and food banks. Sarah commented: “It’s so important for members of a community to have places where they can gather and feel proud of. I’m honoured to support the Building Better Communities campaign from Jewson, which is focused on transforming small corners of people’s communities through local, sustainable building projects.” David Fenton, Marketing Director at Jewson, said: “A huge congratulations goes out to all the Building Better Communities competition finalists. It’s a fantastic achievement for the winners and we can’t wait to see the positive effect the prize money will have as we move into the build phase. We’d also like to thank everyone who got involved in the project, either by nominating, voting or spreading the word.” Launched in February, the Building Better Communities initiative is designed to boost community spirit up and down the country by asking projects to nominate themselves for the chance to win a share of £100,000. The nominations were all judged against the same set of criteria; the legacy of the project, the sustainable products which were identified or could be used to improve the overall comfort of the building, the impact of the project and the strength of the applications.
