CELEBRATING THE BEST IN CONSTRUCTION

The South West Built Environment Awards return on the 9th June 2017 and , for the first time , the event will be at the Ashton Gate Stadium , Bristol .
‘ automatically qualifies winners ’ entry into the prestigious National Constructing Excellence Awards ’
The awards , in their tenth consecutive year , celebrate best practice and combine entertainment and networking . Having gained traction over the previous decade , the awards have continued to grow and the 2017 event is set to attract around 600 industry figures . Winning the awards automatically qualifies winners ’ entry into the prestigious National Constructing Excellence Awards . Following a full re-launch , there are now updated awards categories and a new , much simpler
entry form . The closing date for submissions is 24th March 2017 and there are 13 different categories to enter including : SME of the Year - Judges are looking for an exemplary organisation , with 249 or less employees , although they emphasise cultural achievement , not size , matters . People Development Award - An organisation leading the way on developing existing human assets and attracting new entrants to the industry .
Client of the Year - A construction client that has shown exemplary excellence and best practice . Health & Safety Award - The judges will be looking for a project , organisation or initiative where health and safety has been driven way beyond the industry norm . Integration & Collaborative Working Award - Judges will be looking for evidence of early involvement , selection by value , common processes and tools across organisations such as BIM , long term relationships , modern commercial
arrangements and fair payment practices . Digital Construction Project / Initiative of the Year- Judges will be looking for examples of how the adoption of collaborative digital processes has dramatically improved the planning , design , fabrication , construction and / operation of built facilities or infrastructure . Sustainability Award - Judges are looking for organisations , or projects , whose achievements in relation to the legacy their work leaves have made a positive impact
on society and demonstrated best practice in triple bottom line effects and social value . Preservation & Rejuvenation Award - Judges will be looking to recognise the achievement of high standards in the repair , re-use and revitalisation of the region ’ s historic buildings , sites and places .

Growth In Sliding Patio Doors

PatioMaster ’ s franchised dealers have reported growth in popularity of sliding patio doors . They say this will continue and strengthen in 2017 .
Dealers met for the company ’ s Annual Dealer Conference to discuss and agree products , strategy and goals for the year . Reflecting on 2016 , dealers agreed they had made impressive progress with PatioMaster with sales continuing the upward trend of previous years . They met the new PatioMaster team that that will provide support to the Dealer Network through product development , marketing and sales lead generation . Carmen Velilla heads up the team as brand manager , with Fern Rossano as business development manager with sole responsibility for PatioMaster . Emma Cank leads up the key activity of lead generation with Callum Watkins committed to the brand as digital marketing executive . Dealers learned the marketing plans for 2017 with the welcome news that budgets will once again be increased . They heard about the new products PatioMaster is introducing throughout 2017 , further strengthening the brand ’ s offer .
“ We are excited to reward the commitment by our dealers with an increase in the marketing budget and therefore the support that we can give them and especially the new product programme that will further strengthen the PatioMaster brand ,” said Carmen Velilla . “ Our plans for 2017 are based upon significant growth in sales , ahead of forecasts for the market generally .”

At the recent Construction Marketing Awards in London , the Glass and Glazing Federation ( GGF ) won the Construction Marketing Award ( CMA ) for ‘ Best Mid-Budget Campaign ’ ( below £ 50k ) for MyGlazing . com ’ s national campaign ‘ Window with a View .’ Implemented through Refresh PR , the ‘ Window with a View ’ campaign was an original competition idea housed in the GGF ’ s consumer web site MyGlazing . com and attracted 150 entries and over 4,000 votes across the UK . It also saw over 100 press articles produced across regional , specialist and national media . The winner of the competition was The Museum of Liverpool . James Lee , GGF director of marketing and communications commented : “ The recognition from the Construction Marketing Awards reflects the superb cost effective PR that the GGF team and Refresh PR implemented in 2016 , with a constant stream of new consumer friendly content being created for MyGlazing . com .” Nigel Rees , GGF chief executive added : “ Congratulations to the GGF Marketing Department and Refresh PR on an outstanding performance in 2016 that has promoted MyGlazing . com , the GGF and its members .” In 2016 , the GGF more than doubled its online audience to almost 230,000 unique users and with over 675,000 page views across both GGF its trade and consumer web sites . In addition , the GGF gained its best ever PR coverage in the consumer , national and trade media with over 31 million ‘ opportunities to view .’ The GGF aims to build on this year ’ s success with more extensive marketing and PR plans for 2017 for both the trade and consumers .
