Managing Director of Athena Windows, Colm O’Neill, saw Apeer’s composite, bi-fold and French doors at the company’s stand at the SelfBuild & Improve Your Home Show in Belfast last year. He said: “When I first saw Lumi, it wasn’t just the aesthetics or high standard of the frameless design that made an impression but the performance.” After receiving a positive response from a number of Lumi door and window samples, Athena has recently become one of Apeer’s approved Lumi suppliers and has revamped its showroom in order to capitilise on demand for the new system. Lumi is a new range of contemporary frameless windows and doors that combines ‘edge-to-edge’ glazing with the strength, security and internal styling of more traditional products. The design features energy efficient triple glazing that is structurally bonded to a core of high strength, glass-fibre reinforced profiles. ‘setting up a Lumi dealer network’ Apeer has announced that it will be exhibiting at SelfBuild & Improve Your Home at the Titanic Exhibition Centre, Belfast, in February 2016 and as well as displaying the full range of its Lumi products, including its windows and composite, French and bi-fold doors, it will also be setting up a Lumi dealer network in Northern Ireland. The existing management team was also strengthened with Quality, Marketing and Purchasing Managers. Andrew Huddlestone said: “With close to 70 people in the business, we are well poised to manage the continued growth of the company into 2016 and beyond. The exhibition covers windows, doors, skylights and curtain wall technology, components and prefabricated units. Visitors came from all provinces of China, with more than 60% from the window and façade industry. Interest in thermal efficiency is increasing rapidly in China, so Swisspacer’s stand was of interest to those wanting to know more about energy saving windows. Mr Xu Zhiyong of the Passive House Alliance was one of many visitors to the stand. Swisspacer also demonstrated its Caluwin app - a way for installers to calculate their windows’ energy performance. The stand included Swisspacer’s range of colour spacer bars, 17 in total. Marketing and Sales Director Peter Appel was at the show and said: “China is a growth market for energy efficiency windows so it was a busy few days. It was also good to see that our warm edge spacer bars weren’t only on show on our stand. Seven other window companies with stands at the exhibition displayed window products with Swisspacer inside.”
