SUPER SEALED BENEFITS
FROM BRIGHTER TRENDS
Commercial and domestic
markets are picking up with
more opportunities as demand
grows, according to Bedfordshire
firm Super Sealed Units.
The company started in
May, 2011, in Dunstable
with just eight workers
and on the back of its
success has now expanded to employ 72.
Senior manager Umeet Hirani said the firm’s capabilities were tailored precisely
to the requirements of its
customer base. He explained: “We offer a range
of units with a minimum of
0.7 W/m²K U-vValue, Low-e
double glazed units with
a 1.1 and 1.2 centre-pane
U-Value - at 90% gas and a
very neutral appearance.
“With our in-house glass
toughening furnace, we
are able to supply 4mm
to 19mm and 6.4mm to
12.8mm laminated. The
Bystronic line at Super
Sealed allows a full range
of cavity widths installed
with an option of argon and
krypton gas. Stepped units,
and shaped and curved
edges are other services we
provide in this proactive
market.”
The company also has a
selection of sizes in aluminium spacer bars and
high performance warm
edge spacer bars. Umeet
said: “We have a highly
skilled lead and Georgian
department which offers a
range of leads, stains and
bars in a variety of designs
and colours. Our in-house
technology also ensures we
provide accurate leaded and
Georgian bars.”
The company has installed
an in-house lamination
machine so it can offer a
range of toughened laminated glass to customers. This
allows customers to order
walk on glass and high
security laminated panels
for safety purposes. With
an in-house painting booth
we are also able to produce
Spandrel panels for large
commercial jobs. This can
also be sprayed on kitchen
splash backs at competitive
rates.
The business supplies both
domestic and commercial
markets. Umeet said: “With
our own hiab vehicle we are
able to deliver to commercial sites, and that coupled
with our new DGU commercial line built in October
2015 means our market
for commercial units has
increased.
“We also produce in excess
of 1,000 domestic/commercial units daily with our
superb Bystronic line.”
Super Sealed Units are
capable of delivering
nationwide with a fleet in
excess of 35 lorries/vans as
well as its own special hiab
vehicle.
“On special delivery calls,
the company can deliver
up to Ireland, Scotland and
Wales in large volumes,”
said Umeet. “Large commercial sealed units are delivered on site on hiab trucks
for easy offloading.”
The business recently
opened a new shift to increase its capacity, responding to a rising demand for
structural silicon sealed
units for roof glass. It has
also installed a new large
sealing line allowing it to
seal up to 6000 x 3210 and
bought a new toughening
machine that can toughen
up to 3210mm x 6000mm
(jumbo size sheets).
Umeet said: “The commercial market has picked up.
More homes, particularly
flats, are being built and
there is plenty of opportunity for our sales team to
secure contracted jobs. We
have also noticed that the
demand for walk on/laminated glass has increased
over the past few months.”
He said the company
tended to stick with its suppliers and its existing cus-
tomers were very loyal too.
“We believe it’s important
to build a relationship with
our customers. We want to
be supplying customers for
years rather than months.
We have quick turnarounds, and excellent
quality, hence why our
customers are prepared to
maintain a long standing
relationship with Su-
per Sealed Units. “When
customers break units, for
example, we are quick to
turnaround for next day or
within 48 hours; we ensure
all our customers are satisfied with our service.”
Super Sealed Units’ plans
for the future include installing a new sealing robot
line and opening another
new shift to increase pro-
duction. Umeet added: “In
addition, we are training
staff to become more technically minded to increase
product knowledge leading
to a higher quality product.”
Super Sealed Units will be
actively looking to increase
its customer base in 2016.
