Decade of collaboration
Torquay-based Fenster Fabrications is celebrating ten years in business , and also a decade with systems company Smart Architectural Aluminium .

State of the art construction campus
Leeds College of Building - the only specialist construction college in the UK - has opened Europe ’ s most advanced construction campus . The look of the flagship campus designed by Fuse architects ( Leeds ) was partly achieved by Ireland-based architectural aluminium systems company Metal Technology . The scheme used Metal Technology ’ s System 17 High Rise capped curtain walling and incorporated manual and automatic 4-20Hi + casement opening vents . System 5-20D Hi +
doors completed the range of products used . The Hi + products used within this development are from the company ’ s high performance THERMAL range . These systems combined to deliver complete design flexibility , achieving not only a very high level of thermal performance , but also exceptional structural , security and acoustic performance . All Metal Technology systems comply with the latest British Standards and are Secured by Design certified .

RAMPING UP PRODUCTION
Bristol fabricator The Window Outlet has now invested in two stateof-the-art mitre saws and controllers from elumatec , a leader in aluminium profile machining . The DG104 double mitre saw can cut both high and wide profiles using two saw heads that can be tilted and pivoted to both 45 and 90 degree angles . With its universal design , the double mitre saw can be used for both series production and for special applications . Manufactured in Germany , the DG104 allows for external-dimension cuts to avoid
complicated length calculations , and has the facility for cutting compound angles . With cutting length variants up to 6,000mm , the two machines will allow The Window Outlet to increase its productivity and further streamline its manufacturing process .
The Bristol firm also purchased two E580 controllers to use with its new pair of mitre saws .

Customers are cornerstones
‘ The prestigious Depot of the Year went to the Portsmouth Depot ’
Over 100 representatives from 32 depots attended the National Plastics ’ annual company conference held at The Vale Resort in the Vale of Glamorgan . The event was a mixture of fun and serious business with an overall message of celebration following another successful year . Managing director Geoff Foster sent out a message of thanks to the thousands of National Plastics ’ customers across the country that have made the company so successful and reminded his staff that customers and customer service must continue to be the cornerstones of the National Plastics operation .
The National Plastics representatives were joined by their partners in the evening of the event on 7th January to celebrate the highest achieving depots in the network and to motivate all branches for the year to come . The prestigious Depot of the Year went to the Portsmouth Depot for a second year running .
